Step 1: Activate your student account

If you are a new student, you need to activate your student account. You can activate your account a few days after receiving your final admission decision.

The student account gives you access to the student gateway (uu.se/student), the University's network, printing systems and a variety of services that you need for your studies. You will be able to log in to the learning platform Studium and the student records system Ladok.

Students without a Swedish personal identity number

If you do not have a Swedish personal identity number, you will need a one-time passcode before you can activate your student account. There are two options to get a onetime passcode:

You can receive a one-time passcode by post to your home address. Contact the IT support via email, itsupport@uu.se, to request an identity verification for activating your student account.

The email needs to include the following documents:

  1. A copy of your valid identity document (e.g. passport)
  2. A copy of a utility bill addressed to you, for example a phone bill, rent or similar that can confirm your home address. The bill cannot be older than six months.

When IT Support have verified your identity they will send your one-time passcode and instructions for activating your student account to your home address. You will receive an email informing you when your one-time passcode is on the way.

If you have any questions or are unable to provide a household bill, please contact IT Support for assistance.

If you are currently in Sweden you can pick up a one-time passcode by visiting one of our campuses. You can also do this if you are arriving during the recommended arrival days in Uppsala and Visby.

Bring your passport, or if you are an EU citizen you can bring your national ID card. You will be given temporary login details and must activate your account online within a couple of hours.
