Covid-19 Financial Aid Scholarship
Uppsala University announces the Uppsala University Covid-19 Financial Aid Scholarship. The scholarship is for fee-paying students who are full-time students at Uppsala University during the academic year 2021/2022, and who, due to the extraordinary times, need financial aid to continue their programme studies as planned during the coming academic year 2022/2023.
A complete scholarship application must be submitted no later than 27 February 2022 23:59 Central European Time. The application will be open 14 February – 27 February. A link to the application form will be posted on this page when the application opens.
What is included in the scholarship?
The scholarship will partially cover the tuition fee with a total amount of 40 000 SEK per student for the period of one academic year. This means that the tuition fee will be reduced by 20 000 SEK per semester. When applying, you must motivate why you are eligible to receive the scholarship.
The scholarship can only be used for reducing part of the tuition fee, and living costs are not covered. Scholarship recipients must therefore still be able to fund their living costs by other means, as per the requirements of the Swedish Migration Agency.
You are welcome to apply for this scholarship if you have been a full-time fee paying student at Uppsala University during the academic year 2021/2022 and are in need of financial aid to continue your studies as planned during the coming academic year 2022/2023.
When applying, all of the following criteria must be met. The applicant must:
- not have received any other scholarships or external funding for the tuition fee, or study an Erasmus Mundus joint Master’s programme. An exception to the rule is having received the Covid-19 Financial Aid Scholarship previously. Reapplying for this scholarship is therefore possible.
- have been registered as a full-time student since the student started a study programme at Uppsala University;
- have passed courses within the programme amounting to at least 75% of the total credits that can be obtained during the programme so far; If you are currently enlisted in a Master’s or Bachelor’s programme with start date in the autumn of 2021, at least 22.5 credits out of 30 must be obtained. If you are currently enlisted in a Bachelor’s programme with start date in the autumn of 2020, at least 67.5 credits out of 90 must be obtained.
