Uppsala University international scholarship fund for an extra course
Uppsala University announces the Uppsala University international scholarship fund for international fee-paying students. The fund aims to attract and support ambitious students, giving them financial aid to take an extra course at Uppsala University, outside of the programme syllabus during the summer or autumn semester.
The scholarship is for fee-paying students who are full-time students at Uppsala University during the academic year 2021/2022.
Deadline for application was 24 april 2022 and the application is now closed. Late applications will not be considered.
What is included in the scholarship?
The scholarship will cover the tuition fee for an extra course at Uppsala University, outside of your regular programme syllabus, amounting to maximum 7.5 credits. The course is considered as an extra merit, and it is not possible to use this scholarship to reduce the tuition fee.
You are welcome to apply for this scholarship if you are a full-time fee-paying student at Uppsala University during the academic year 2021/2022 and will continue your programme during the academic year 2022/2023. When applying, all of the following criteria must be met. The applicant must:
- have been registered as a full-time student since the student started a study programme at Uppsala University
- have passed courses within the programme amounting to 100% of the total credits that can be obtained during the previous semester/semesters. Students with fewer credits obtained or have interruptions in the programme are not eligible to seek the scholarship.
- have applied for an extra course at Uppsala University, outside of the programme, either in the summer semester 2022 or autumn semester 2022.
- motivate in the scholarship application why the student wants to study this extra course outside of the programme.
The selection among the eligible applicants will be based on academic merits and motivational letters.
Announcement of the result
All applicants will be informed of the result via email in the end of May.
If you are awarded a scholarship
If you are awarded a scholarship, your tuition fee for an extra course amounting to maximum 7.5 credits will be paid by your scholarship under the condition that you are conditionally admitted to the course. Please note that the extra course will not be considered part of your study programme, and there is no guarantee it can be included in your degree. A degree may not contain excess credits.
It is not possible to postpone or save the scholarship for another academic year than 2022/2023.
