About the course
Your dialect speaks of your heritage, where you grew up and it speaks of a kind of common language history. Some can change dialect depending on who they are speaking with or if they move to a different place, while some keep theirs throughout their life.
This is a course where you will learn about Swedish dialects and standard language from a linguistic perspective. During the course you will learn how dialects have evolved over time and how regional and social differences affect dialects. You will also get an introduction to methods and terminology that is used within dialectology which gives you a good base on which to continue studying dialects and language.
