About the course
The course provides advanced knowledge in sociolinguistic research. While emphasis lies on sociolinguistic conditions in modern times, a diachronic perspective is also considered. The course deals with concepts, theories and methods in various areas of sociolinguistics. Special attention will be paid to the relationship between change at a social and linguistic level, taking into account gender and regional aspects, as well as a Scandinavian point of view. In consultation with the teacher, students will choose a current thesis or similar scientific text to study in depth.
