Graduation Ceremony

The graduation ceremony is a festive event in the University Main Building for all graduating students at the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Thechnology. During the ceremony, ceremonial diplomas are awarded by the Faculty's Vice-Rector while music is provided by the Royal Academic Orchestra. Guests and graduates are also treated to entertainment and speeches from UTN, the the Vice-Rector and a graduate.

When is the graduation ceremony?

  • On October 5, ceremonies will be held for graduates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • On November 9, ceremonies will be held for graduates with a civil- or högskoleingenjörsexamen.

How can I attend the graduation ceremony?

1. Pre-register

To receive an official invitation to the ceremony, you must first pre-register by submitting a notification of interest. You don’t need to have your degree registered in Ladok to pre-register.

For those of you who plan to obtain a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree: submit a notification of interest to the ceremony on October 5 here. Last day to submit a notification of interest is September 1.

For those of you that plan to obtain a civil- or högskoleingenjörsexamen: submit a notification of interest to the ceremony on November 9 here. Last day to submit a notification of interest is October 13.

2. Apply for a degree

Apply for a degree in Ladok as soon as you have finished all your courses within your program. Normal processing time is within 60 days after applying. Here you can find more information about how to apply for a degree.

3. Make an official registration

If you have registered your interest and had your degree registered and approved in Ladok, you will receive an official invitation to the ceremony by email. The invitation will be sent out the week after last day to submit a notification of interest.

The invitation contains a registration link and if you still want to attend the ceremony, you must submit an official registration for the ceremony. Registration is open for two weeks.

Note that you must have submitted a notification of interest and had your degree approved in Ladok before you can officially register.

Ceremony dates 2024

On October 5, ceremonies will be held for graduates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

On November 9, ceremonies will be held for graduates with ha civil- or högskoleingenjörsexamen.
