Porting of mobile phone number
Mobile number portability allows mobile phone users to retain their mobile phone number when switching from one mobile operator to another.
This means that if an employee has a mobile number they wish to use as the number for their work mobile phone, it is possible to request that the number (not the subscription) be transferred to Uppsala University's contract and operator.
Conditions for number transfer:
- The person in question is the financial responsibility for the number they wish to transfer to the university. If a company, another authority, or another university is financially responsible, the number must first be transferred to the person who wishes to move the mobile number to Uppsala University before the transfer can be approved.
- If there is a contract period or termination fees associated with the current subscription, these must be settled with the current operator before a number transfer to Uppsala University can be approved.
It is possible to return the mobile number to the user if the person leaves their employment at Uppsala University.

Please note! Uppsala University does not allow number transfers of mobile numbers that begin with 070-167 9xxx, 070-425 0xxx, 072-999 9xxx, or 073-469 7xxx. These number series belong to Uppsala University and are associated with the contracted telephony operator.
