Teaching is free of charge. Course literature, study materials such as calculators, own computer, copies of articles, printouts and other materials necessary for the studies are paid by each student.

Information on state student support, grants and loans, can be obtained from the Central Board of Student Support (CSN).

In the case of placement, students must expect increased expenses. If the VFU is located elsewhere than Uppsala, a travel allowance of 75% is paid for the cheapest means of transportation provided that original receipts and travel expenses have been submitted to the department's financial administrator. More detailed instructions on the procedure are given by the teacher responsible for the course before the practical course.

If there are special reasons for requesting a placement at a VFU (medical or social), contact the VFU responsible teacher for more information. A form for requests for special consideration in VFU placement is available (certificate verifying the reason must be attached).
