The Institution is located on Campus BMC in corridor B1 on floors 4-5, i.e. in the part of the BMC building facing Stadskogen/Kåbovägen (see find on BMC). On floor 5 there are workrooms for the department's teachers, director of studies and head of department. On floor 4 there are workrooms for doctoral students and course administrators as well as classrooms, teaching kitchen, research kitchen and sensory/data room. Several teaching elements in the dietetics and food science programme, especially from semester two onwards, take place in these premises.

As an individual student, you cannot book the department's premises. However, the department's study council Culina via the department's course administrator can book the premises for joint student activities.

The institution's web portal contains a list of all staff and their contact details. It is possible to email or call. If you have questions about a specific course, please contact the teacher responsible for the course, who can also be contacted via the message function in Studium. If you have questions about the programmes, contact the programme coordinator in the first instance. If you have more general questions about the studies/programme, contact the course administrator. Please contact one person at a time regarding a case, so that several colleagues are not given the same question at the same time. It then takes more time to handle.

The timetable and other information about your courses can be found in the Studium. The preliminary timetable should be available at least five weeks before the start of the course and a final timetable one week before the start of the course. If you want to see the schedule of other courses, you can search via Time Edit.

Remember to always check for updated course information and announcements via Studium. Even a definitive schedule may need to be changed in case of unforeseen events regarding premises and teachers.

No, the group division is done automatically via Studium and you are expected to be in the group you are assigned to within the course. If you want to change group, you can contact your course mates and ask if someone can change. Then it may be fine. However, the teachers are not able to handle individual students' requests for group changes.

If you have not passed an exam, you will be given additional opportunities: in addition to the regular exams, you will be given a re-examination opportunity and a catch-up opportunity. Then the next opportunity is given the next time the course is given again. In principle, there is no limit at our department on how many attempts you get to pass an exam. Please note, however, that if a course is discontinued, renamed with a new course code, and no longer given in its current form, the department is obliged to give three final examinations (during three semesters), so-called closure exams, but no more after that. In this case, there is thus a limitation.

It is the student's own responsibility to register for the exam via Ladok in time, i.e. before registration closes. If you miss this, there is unfortunately no possibility for us to re-register, but you will be referred to the next exam session.

No, there is currently no possibility to apply for the later part of a programme.

If you wish to start a programme, it must be applied for via the regular admission process from the start. If you are admitted and have already completed Food Studies, Nutrition and Dietetics A: Nutrition 30 credits as an independent course, it can be credited.

No, you cannot. You must apply and be admitted to the programme you intend to attend. If you finish a programme, you can apply for a new one, and if it includes equivalent courses, you can apply to have them credited.

No, you cannot. You are admitted to a programme at the higher education institution where you applied for your programme. If you wish to study at another higher education institution, you must reapply for the programme at the new institution.

However, it is possible to credit previous studies from another higher education institution when you start the programme at the new higher education institution, if the courses you have taken correspond to the ones you will take.

To become a qualified teacher to teach pupils up to grade 6 in primary school, you need to study 30 credits. If you want to teach up to grade 9, you need to study a total of at least 45 credits to be authorised. If you plan to become a single-subject teacher, you need to study a total of 90 credits.

On the basic course 30 credits there are three meetings of 2 days each, totalling 6 days (full days 8–16). These are usually connected to a weekend and are evenly spread over the course. On the advanced courses, there are a total of 2–3 campus days per course.
