Admission and registration
If you have been admitted to Uppsala University, you are probably eager to get started with your studies. But before you get started you need to do one important thing: you must register for the course or programme you are going to attend. Otherwise, you may lose your place in the course or programme.
As a new student, the first step is to activate your student account. Then, you can register and if you wish you can also become a member of a student union and student nation.
Withdrawing your admission
If you have accepted your place but are no longer interested in it, it is important to let us know you won't be attending that course or programme.
- If you don't wish to keep your place and not yet are registered, you should decline your offer on Universityadmissions.se.
- If you've registered for the course but decide you no longer wish to attend, you must contact the department that provides the course to withdraw.
Deferral of studies
If you are admitted to the university but are unable to begin at the time the course or programme is scheduled to begin, you can apply for deferral of studies. This means that you apply to postpone the commencement of your studies.
About application for next semester
Even as a programme student, you must in many cases apply for the next semester's courses via universityadmissions.se.
Student records (Ladok)
The University's student records are managed in a system known as Ladok. It contains information on all students. In Ladok, you can, among other things, register for courses, register for exams, change your contact information, order a certificate of studies and apply for a diploma.
